What we do
Established for over 40 years, The Abbeyfield St Albans Society, known locally as ‘Grace Muriel House’ has a proven track record of providing exceptional residential care to our elderly residents.
Here at Grace Muriel House our ethos has always been focused on family and home, we understand how important it is to support residents and their families when moving to a new environment.
Everyone is greeted with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, Grace Muriel House provides our residents with a clean, comforting home with quality care they can trust.
Our dedicated care staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide support to our residents. Our residents are the heart of our home and our staff have a passion for their care.
With a fantastic team and a wide variety of activities there is always something for everyone, whether it be something that brings residents together or more person centred.
With very many of our residents embracing the digital age, we have introduced wi-fi access throughout the home. Indeed, we even have a "silver surfers'" club, for residents with electronic tablets to learn and share their knowledge with one another.
We pride ourselves in providing an excellent food service, where all of our meals are freshly prepared by qualified cooks, using locally sourced produce.
Some of the residents and families we meet might just need a short break or help and support during a particular time. We can offer them that during a respite stay. Whether it be for convalescence, a holiday or just peace of mind for families. Respite can also be a great way to find out more about what we do.
Founded in 1960, a member of the Abbeyfield Society we are a charitable organisation, our home is not owned by a parent company and we don't have shareholders - we're simply a charity that puts the needs of older people first .
We work within the Abbeyfield Guiding Principles and have achieved the Abbeyfield Quality Standard which ensures you’ll always receive the highest quality of care.
