We are really proud to announce we have achieved the ‘Food First Care Home Award’ Certificate of Achievement.
It’s been a great to work with the Food First team to reach and maintain high standards of nutritional care. They have supported us with training and resources, equipping our staff and carers with the knowledge and skills to identify and appropriately manage people at risk of malnutrition.
The team keep in regular contact and offer our home individualised support. They will continue to monitor our standards and support us, ensuring we remain a Food First Care Home.
All aspects of hydration and nutrition are important to us. Our management team and care staff work closely with our cooks and every resident, to provide freshly prepared meals and drinks that are tailored to individual needs.
Some of the great Food First key points are; Making Mealtimes Manageable, Nourishing Drinks, Making Every Mouthful Count, Providing Assistance at Mealtimes, Eat Well to Heal Well and Keeping Hydrated.
Meeting the ‘Food First Expectations’, is recognised by local councils and provides evidence that we are taking the necessary measures to meet CQC Outcome 5. Only by meeting these expectations, were we awarded with ‘Food First Care Home’ status. We will receive audits every 6 months ensure these standards are maintained.
Our Manager Annette, Head of Care Yasmin, Kitchen Manager David and Cook Lorelie are pictured here with Rhianydd and Catie from the Food First team.
A big ‘Well done’ to all the Grace Muriel House team! Keep up the good work.
